Specials: July 2010

We have two of our cellared release wines available in July this year - Contact us to order.
The Canberra District is establishing a name for Riesling and Shiraz, with the cooler vineyards in Canberra (like Lark Hill) making long-term aging wines with subtlety and intensity, as well as the warmer vineyards ripening lovely medium-bodied, fragrant Rhone-style Shiraz.

2005 Riesling $30
A cooler year after 2004, 2005 was lovely for Riesling with a slow, gentle ripening season through early Autumn. This Riesling was very austere when young and has gained layers of complexity with age. Showing nutty, toasty aromas over lime, this is great with food, especially spicy dishes. Screwcap.

2007 Riesling $30
The 2007 Riesling is now just settling into its aging potential, with some complexity showing with the citrus fruit. This wine is still very young (by our standards) and will cellar nicely for years to come. Screwcap.

2001 Shiraz $40
2001 was a hot year in Canberra and yielded big, rich and vibrant red wines; this Shiraz shows all the red-berry fruit & spice we expect of Canberra Shiraz, with 8 years in bottle giving integration and balace. Drink now with meat or game dishes. Cork Sealed

2004 Shiraz Viognier $40
2004 was our first foray into the then new and exciting world of Viognier blends - which lifts the bouquet and brings balance and polish to the palate. Lovely whilst young, this Shiraz has aged very well and shows rose-petal perfume, blackberry fruit and a hint of ginger-spice. Will continue to cellar for some years. Screwcap.
