1999 Methode Champenoise $50

Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this is a traditional Methode Champenoise aged for 11 years on yeast lees. This results in a rich, bready, complex wine with toasty notes and a long, crisp finish. Perfect as an aperitif or with light foods, this is a great wine for celebrations and special occasions.
We disgorge this wine on-site, so if you would like a particular style (extra-brut through to demi-sec), simply ask when you place an order.

James Halliday in 2010 Wine Companion of the 1998: 92/100
"Deep gold, but bright; a very fresh example showing grilled nuts and attractive brioche complexity, and a touch of citrus in the background; the palate is lively and fresh, the acidity chalky and fine.
